Liberal Democrat Conference at Bournemouth11.10.52pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 15th Sep 2008
The Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference is currently underway in Bournemouth. The conference is debating and discussing key policy issues, including proposed major reforms to policing with a 10,000 increase in police on our streets, the scrapping of ID cards and decentralising the force, major changes to reduce public sector waste, and the proposal for significant tax cuts for those people on low and average incomes. Helen is attending the Conference and said, "The Lib Dem Conference is the only main political conference where real issues are debated and voted on by the members. It is a great opportunity to meet with so many like-minded people and thoroughly debate the issues that matter. I would urge everyone to read through the 'Make It Happen' document, which sets out the key Lib Dem visions and values. The Liberal Democrats are the only party who are committed to making our country fairer for all of its citizens." The 'Make It Happen' document can be viewed at http://www.libdems.org.uk/assets/0000/7745/Make_it_Happen.pdf
